Strong military building built between 1811 and 1888 to defend the gulf between Porto S. Stefano and Talamone. Following this period, the fort was used as large and middle caliber ammunition depot. It has a complex planimetry developed on three levels in the subsoil.
It occupies about 8.000 square metres of the surface with 18 rooms for the garrison and others allocated as warehouse. It was operative until 1975 but is abandoned nowadays.
