Folklore and traditions are expressions of people's memory and in public performances and events, relived with passion and participation by local people. On the Promontory of Monte Argentario the sea is the prevalent element and is the protagonist of almost all traditional events.
A few to remember: the Palio Marinaro (a boat race), the Pirates' Night, the many rowingregattas, as well as the processions of the statue of the patron saint on-board a fishing boat during religious ceremonies. These events confirm the cultural identity of local people and bring the tourists closer to local culture.
