From 20 June 2021 in Porto Santo Stefano, along the new wall of the Garibaldi pier, it is possible to admire a permanent open-air historical art exhibition representing the narration of the Expedition of the Thousand.
The exhibition, created by the Centro Don Pietro Fanciulli in collaboration with the Municipality of Monte Argentario, consists of 40 paintings that have as their subject the main stages of the enterprise, the figure of Garibaldi, some
well-known Garibaldini and young local volunteers who, between the 7 and 9 May 1860, embarked in Talamone and Porto Santo Stefano.
The works, created by numerous artists of the Silver Coast, were transferred to ceramic tiles and organized along the pier bulwark. The walk on the pier is thus enriched with art and color.
