This tiny beach has in its middle a small natural swimming pool defended by cliffs. According to the locals it is similar to the lavers where the women used to wash their clothing, thus the name.
There is no doubt that many children learnt to swim here because it is small and deep to a perfection. The small strand nearby is known as Le Monache as the nuns from the old Ricasoli Asilo used to come here to bathe.
